Revlon Colorstay Concealer Review

Sunday, 23 November 2014

After Lily Pebbles posted about this concealer a while back, I decided to give it a try. Sadly, I found myself underwhelmed.

It is certainly less drying than the likes of Collection Lasting Perfection so it doesn't give such a cakey look, especially under the eyes. Apart from that I didn't find many positives with it. The coverage is ok, nothing to shout about though. The biggest problem with this product was how it settled into fine lines around my eyes, even when I set it with powder. It looked very obvious when this happened, more so than any other concealer I've used, so if having lines and creases around the eyes sounds like you, then this probably won't work for you either.

The colour range isn't fantastic as with most concealers. I went for 'light' which is probably a little too light for me, but the next colour up would have been way to dark for my skin, especially when I planned to be using this under my eyes.

But if you're not looking for a heavy duty concealer and the colour match seems good for you, then it may be worth trying it, as it's definitely less drying than a lot of highstreet concealers. I still occasionally reach for this to add the tiniest down the most obvious part of my dark circles (not the whole under eye because of the way it settles) and it works ok on blemishes too, it blends quite well into the surrounding skin to help things look more flawless and even.

If this does interest you, you can pick one up for around £6.99, and Boots are currently running their 3 for 2 offer which always helps (although I'm pretty sure you already knew about that).

  4. Such a pet peeve when the concealer sets into the fine lines under your eyes, though, great to hear it wasn't drying! Helpful review, thanks for writing it :)
