The Liebster Award

Friday, 26 September 2014

Thanks so much to Charlotte for the nomination. I love Charlotte's blog, she has a great mix of beauty, lifestyle and baking posts so please go and check out her blog! This is such a great idea as it lets you get to know other bloggers a little better and reaffirms that the blogging community is super lovely and wants everyone to know their contributions to the blogging world are much appreciated.

There are a few rules and simple steps to the Liebster Award, so if you are nominated in this post, or need some pointers on completing your own nomination, here they are:
1. Link back to the person who nominated you

2. Answer the questions you were given
3. Nominate a handful of bloggers with under 200 followers
4. Give them questions to answer

So here are my responses to Charlotte's questions:

1. Tell us the story of your blog and how/why it came to be...
After spending so much time reading other great blogs, I randomly one day decided to start my own. I thought it would be a great way to get in touch with others with similar interests as well being a bit of a creative outlet, as at the time I didn't have anything creative going on in my life. I have set up a blog in the past but I ended up neglecting it completely and not really getting involved so I'm much more committed this time.

2. What is your favourite place to shop for clothes?

For online shopping, Asos because it's just so easy and convenient, but when I'm actually out and about, H&M. Great clothes, great prices.

3. What is your dream job?

Who knows?! I've never known and now at the age of 22 I'm completely ok with that. I am happy to try different roles and experiences and hope that something will come along one day that I really enjoy, but ideally it would involve a degree of writing.

4. How does your style change from day to night?

It doesn't change much at all to be honest; usually bolder lipstick and heeled boots get brought into the equation.

5. If you could release any line of beauty products, what would they be and why?

Nail polish hands down. I just love the stuff and don't feel quite right with naked nails so to be able to decide my own colours would be so perf.

6. How organised is your makeup collection?

Not very! I've just moved so had to downsize but still haven't organised it properly yet i.e. it's spread out over a few drawers/makeup bags

7. Do you have any guilty pleasures in the YouTubing/blogging world?
Do cute videos of cats count?

8. Name your top 3 desert island makeup and/or beauty products

Max Factor False Lash mascara
Carmex Vanilla lip balm
Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot powder.

9. What's your favourite item of clothing at the moment and where was it from?

Probably this dress from Asos.

10. Favourite lipstick shade ever?

Toughie! Depends on the season normally, but I love a good matte red so maybe MACs Russian Red would win that battle.

11. Talk us through the average day in the life of you!

I've just started my Masters degree, but we're not quite in the swing of things yet so I haven't got a set routine. Normally it's something like; I get up, get ready, have breakfast and then head to uni, then I'll come home and either see friends or my boyfriend in the evening or just hang out with my housemates. Although I'm sure the opportunities for socialising will lessen once the course starts properly.

Hope you found that interesting or insightful or whatever. I nominate:

Claudine from Claudine Converses
Ioanna from Hearting
Abby from The Beauty Scrapbook

And here are your questions...

1. How long does it take you to apply your basic every-day makeup?

2. Favourite nail polish?
3. What would your death row/ last meal be?
4. What season do you prefer and why?
5. 3 current beauty wish-list items?
6. Describe your typical autumn-winter outfit/style
7. All time favourite film/TV programme?
8. Why did you start your blog?
9. Dream holiday destination?
10. Name your favourite blog/blogs/youtubers?
11. What do you like to do at the weekend to relax/have fun?

Can't wait to read your answers to these :)
